Failed · Failure
Luna 8 was a Soviet Ye-6 spacecraft launched with the intended mission of achieving a soft landing on the Moon. A puncture to a cushioning airbag caused the spacecraft to spin and lose attitude control, preventing full firing of the retrorockets, and it impacted the Sea of Storms.
